Guidelines for FIT Scholarship for Foreign Students
(Including Overseas Compatriot Students)
passed by the
administation meeting on March 4, 2003
revised in the first administration meeting of 94 school year (August 8,
2005)
1. To encourage excellent foreign students (Including
Overseas Compatriot Students) to study in FIT, and assist them to study
without worrying about their living, we formulate these guidelines of the
procedure (hereafter this guideline). The overseas compatriot students here
mean those who possess the overseas-compatriot- student certificate issued
by Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission, R.O.C.
2. The scholarship is exclusive for those foreign
students who are studying in FIT within the regulated terms of studying.
3. Quota and Amount of Money
Every school year, FIT will offer the quota—one
fifth of the foreign (including the overseas compatriot ) students in FIT.
The amount of money depends on the tuition of that year. In addition, every
school year FIT will offer another quota—one tenth of the foreign (including
the overseas compatriot ) students in FIT (ten students at most). The
amount of money for the latter is ten thousand dollars. And students can
apply only one of the two scholarships.
4. FIT provides students with rooms for four people in
the dormitory. The rent is half of the common fee for such a room. (If
there is any special case, FIT will evaluate it with a specific procedure)
5. The period for application is from September 15th
to October 15th.
6. Qualification
(1) Foreign students or students possessing the
documents which are certified by Overseas Chinese
Affairs Commission, R.O.C.
(2) The average grades (of the year before) of those
foreign (including the overseas compatriot ) students in FIT should be over
70, and the conduct grades of the year before should also be over 70.

Application Procedure and Notice
(1) After the students present their applications to
Extra-curriculum Division in Department Disciplinary Affairs, the
application forms will be examined at the FIT Scholarship Administration
Committee.
(2) Foreign students in FIT will be informed of the
result of the examination by November 30.

The guidelines should be passed by the administration meeting, and
put into
practice
after being examined by the president,. When there is a need to revise
the
above regulations, the procedure is the same as the aforementioned.
